According to a report, that I only found today, the !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! .
To see the other races you'll have to pony up $74/month to subscribe to Foxtel's pay TV service and have access to the sports channels. The upside is that you'll see every race, practice and qualifying round, as well as support races, live and in HD. Compare that to the current situation where Channel Seven shows qualifying and races, and some support races and practice rounds, but only in SD.
Back home in Oz, I wouldn't mind tuning to watch a bit of V8 Supercars action. I wasn't rusted on, die-hard fan, but if I was home, bored and flicking through the channels and came upon it, I'd happily sit around and watch for a while.
That being the case, my answer would be "no" to the $74 question.
What about you?

Unfortunately, no. But I would want to and would consider paying, just not that much. I am not a target market, however, as I don't have a single TV channel at home.

Standard definition still exists?

No

In Australia it most surely does. In fact, unless you're paying for TV, most of the quality and high rating shows are shown exclusively in SD.

How much would you be prepared to pay? And would that price include access to other sports on Fox?

lol nope, esp. since I just saw a ad for a Chrysler 200 lease that was $75 a month.
Yea its a crappy car, but I'd much rather drive a shitty car then watch good ones.

That's a lot of $. Dorna charges $130 or so for a full year of online access for MotoGP - live races (you can also watch delayed, and a vast archive of all races), all the practices and qualifying in HD. They're doing the same for World Superbike and it was about $100, but you just get qualifying and the races - still a lot better than the $20 a month I'd have to pay to upgrade my service, and I get a lot more coverage and no commercials.

You can't even buy SD televisions in America anymore. It's all 720p and up. 5k is actually easier to find than 480p.

It's a lot more fun to drive up north to Auckland or fly to Sydney and go on a short road trip to Bathurst to watch the race. We hardly watch telly.

Hahaha, my wife would probably say the same thing too.

I'd say 90+% of TVs for sale in Australia are 720p or greater too, but free-to-air TV is primarily SD. There are HD channels, but they primarily show repeat programming.

Cheaper too!

I wonder the V8 Supercars or the rights holders will come up with an overseas internet access package. Something tells me, probably not.

It would be stupid for them not too. Look at Dorna - they are getting ~$225 a year from me between the 2 series.
If I just upped by TV package at $20 a month to get BeIn Sports (WSBK) and Fox Sports (I think) for MotoGP - Dorna gets a very small portion of that $240.
For me - I enjoy watching all the practices, qualifying, and the races if I have the time, so for me it's well worth it for the extra coverage, lack of commercials and so on, where if I added to my DISh pkg, I'd just get the races.

Well, it does depend on what series/sports it would include. I'd pay $20/mo to watch all the rally action in WRC and Rally America, more if it included F1 coverage, more if it included WTCC, ALMS, etc etc. And then if soccer was included I'd likely pay even more.

No. I wouldn't pay that to watch IndyCar, which I'm fairly passionate about or F1 which I have a huge interest in.
I won't even pay $10/mo to watch TUSC on Fox Sports 2 in the states, and I try to get to a few races each year. But $74 /mo for V8 Supercars, which I occasionally watch out of curiousity, no.
